“You stand in the presence of Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, rightful heir to the Iron Throne, rightful Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, the Breaker of Chains.”
That’s the introduction to the beautiful Emilia Clarke known as “Khaleesi” in the epic saga we call as Game of thrones. The character she portrayed from the first season was that of a subtle, calm and innocent Princess who is longing to just go back to her home where her ancestors originally lived .
The first ever title she gains is that of Khaleesi when she is married off to Khal (King) Drogo of the Dothraki clan. She regains herself after the death of his Khal realizing that she is the rightful Targaryen for the Iron Throne and not her brother.
Lets see why we should get inspiration from the Daughter of the Mad King, Daenerys Targaryen.
She followed the Dothraki tradition of eating a raw heart of a stallion before giving birth to a child. She walked into the fire with her Dragon eggs later gave birth to 3 dragons. This added the titles of the “Unburnt and mother of dragons”.
Daenerys has always appreciated suggestions given by her close apprentices like Ser Jorah ,Misandei and Daario. And later, she incorporated The Imp, Tyrion Lannister as the Hand of the Queen. She knew when to take the suggestion and when to act like a queen.
Daenerys led the clan of Dothrakis to travel on sea which they had never experienced. Being an outsider and leading wild Dothrakis, The Unsullied, The second sons and the dragons was a challenge. The confident, strong and independent Khaleesi outgrew the level of expectation every time she decided to do something.
Well! She can’t be praised enough for the character she portrays so effortlessly and befittingly. The character reminds us that we women are the KHALEESI in our own eyes. Only then the world would recognise our worth.
VALAR MORGHULIS(All men must die)
But then we are not men!
2 years and we still can’t get over the stunning Bajirao Mastani : A love story that is worth reminiscing.
Bajirao Mastani was an exotic and eternal love story that not only touched our hearts but remained there forever. A movie that was much awaited, it was truly a stunner with unique dialogues and extraordinary performances. The protagonists Ranveer Singh as Bajirao and Deepika Padukone as Mastani left everybody dumbstruck. Their performances reflected the depth of the characters so well that they became an asset to love and compassion.
On the other hand, the role of Priyanka Chopra as Kashi Bai and her sarcastic dialogues full of self-respect remain unmatched to the date. Every single artist performed with such excellence that nobody could deny the greatness of the script. Indeed, it was not just the script that was flawless.
Being a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, it had astonishing background sets, quick and heartwarming dialogues, expressive songs, energetic dances and most importantly, the perfect portrayal of characters. A story picked from the lost pages of history created history that is now eternal.
THOSE FASCINATING DIALOGUES :
This is simply the tip of the iceberg. The intensity and demeanor of the dialogues made us review our take on love, life and eternity. They were beautifully written by Prakash Kapadia who and each line felt so pure. The music and dance received appreciation from both the audience and critics.
From Pinga to Deewani Mastani and from Mohe Rang Do Laal to Malhari, all of them were unique in their own creation. Where Deepika received laurels for her Mohe Rang Do Laal dance, Ranveer once again proved he was the power house of this industry with his Malhari dance. Also, Sanjay Leela Bhansali recreated the magic of Dola Re Dola from Devdas in the form of Pinga where Priyanka and Deepika were immensely praised.
A never-ending journey of excellence, Sanjay Leela Bhansali yet again proved as the master of beautiful sets, captivating costumes, eye-catching jewelry and flawless direction. The man who revived his films so beautifully made this masterpiece that will live in the history of cinema.
Sanju is just a handful of Sanjay Dutt’s life. One must know him better before judging him.
“My confinement days have been nothing less than a roller coaster ride. To look at the positive side, it has taught me a lot and made me a better individual.”
~ Sanjay Dutt
The movie Sanju is genuinely one of the awaited films of 2018. The trailer has already created buzz and the movie looks really captivating and promising.
A biopic on the Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, the movie circumspects almost all major happenstance in the actor’s life. This is inclusive of different phases from his drug addiction to his underworld connections, his father Sunil Dutt’s infinite faith in him, his ‘308 girlfriends’ and others instances from his life.
Initially, it was a rumour that Ranbir Kapoor cannot live up to the audience’s expectations but when the teaser was released, it created endless buzz among the crowd. His incarnation of the actor is truly remarkable. From Sanjay’s looks to manners, dialect and accent, Ranbir rocked it all!
The trailer did throw light on various incidents in his life. Nonetheless, there is still a lifelong spirit that we are unaware of.
Reasons for imprisonment
Sanjay Dutt earned paramount fame with his début in 1981 with his movie ‘Rocky’. Just as he became an emerging star in Bollywood, he jeopardized his career and put his life in harm’s way owing to his drug addictions. He was taught another life changing lesson when he was allegedly arrested and convicted for illegal possession of weapons. This emerged into an even graver offense when his crimes related to the case of 1993 Mumbai serial bombings!
The jail trauma
“Staying away from my family and my loved ones was a challenge. During those days, I learnt how to keep my body in perfect shape, used trash cans and mud pots in place of weights and dumbbells. We also used to do a cultural function every six months in jail where I taught convicts serving out life sentences to mouth dialogues, sing, dance and express themselves through skits. These people became my family during the hard times and came to encourage me when I was giving up.”
Even in the worse situations, he avoided the worst. He revealed that he completely severed company or communication with inmates who were convicted for rape, for murdering their wives and committing heinous crimes against women. He said that he firmly believes that women are the embodiment of the divine and they must not be stripped off their divinity.
He resorted to reading and used to read extensively. He would borrow books every week front the prison library, mainly in Hindi literature. Apart from Munshi Premchand, he also read a handful of spiritual accounts which gave him courage and strength to bear his punishment.
He saw a brief escape from real life to his reel life through the Yerewada Central Prison’s Radio station. The jail’s internal radio station welcomed him as a host for which he would recite his own scribbles and manuscripts. He would bring up the topics about revamp and reformation in his sessions. He would speak about the difficulties in prison life, how to bear and survive it and how to reform and rehabilitate, once set free.
The actor would repeat his famous dialogues from Munnabhai movies and keep his listeners entertained.
“The time I spent in jail made me realize a lot of things. It broke my ego.”
From serving as prisoner number 16656 to completing 5 years of imprisonment, from being kept in solitary confinement to earning a daily wage of Rs.50 from making paper bags, Sanjay Dutt has seen it all.
“It was no easy walk to freedom” he says. Given his determination and renaissance, he has truly earned his freedom and a place in our hearts!
7 reasons why Batman is The Batman
Throughout the comic history, there have been several superheroes and villains with tremendous amount of power
and expertise but no one matches the likes of the caped crusader we all know and love. And this monologue indeed means business “I am Batman”. Here are 7 reasons why Batman is the most epic superhero of all
Though Batman doesn’t possess any sort of superhuman powers or abilities, it’s his peak strength which enables him to fight off waves after waves of countless enemies. His ability in close hand to hand combat enables him to survive against all odds.
Batman has not only entertained the readers with his fancy gadgets and fighting skills but several alternate versions across the multiverse have been equally instrumental in cementing his place in comic history’s golden throne.
Bonus fact: In Flash Point Paradox, Bruce Wayne dies and the mantle of responsibility shifts towards Thomas Wayne’s shoulders…and this version of Batman uses guns.. Spooky indeed!
Batman is the only superhero who knows all the weaknesses of his allies from the Justice League. In trying to build a contingency plan to thwart the ambitions of a rogue Justice League, the caped crusader recorded a series of audio files which consisted of a detailed account on how to stop a rogue Justice League. Now that’s some futuristic planning!
Batman indeed strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies when he is seen lurking in the shadows of the crime filled streets of Gotham City. And this particular trait is what fascinates every reader, ally and of course his enemies. The infamous Yellow Lantern Corps, yes the villains from the Green Lantern universe, caught attention of Batman and the Yellow Ring chose none other than Batman from Earth. Damn he’s such a badass!
DOPE TEST FAILURE
Batman has an immense willpower which makes him literally invincible no matter who stands in front of him. But physical strength matters as well…. So to increase his strength he once chose to take steroids, the results…….. He became immensely strong and aggressive which was beneficial to his crime fighting career, but it started to control him and in turn made him a drug addict. Eventually Batman locked himself and detoxicated himself which did work out pretty well.
Batman has a vast array of gadgets and cars, not to mention he has tons of cash which already is a plus point, but above all he has his own family which is totally dedicated towards crime fighting. From Night Wing to Robin and all the way to Red Hood, hell even Batwomen have been in his team. Other superheroes have their different versions in different timelines but Batman has his own vigilante family which gives him an edge.
BATMAN- GOD KILLER
Although Batman has his fair share of achievements from the past but the one which stands out above all is his victory against the Apokolipsian Drakseid. Batman hasn’t just defeated him once but twice. His first encounter saw
him shooting the Apokolipsian with a God Killer gun (the first time he used a gun in his crime fighting career) and he achieved the same fate again by using the Hellbat armour while the Justice League was in shambles. He’s just so
In this world where people have always been hungry for power, Batman has always been there to symbolize humanity. Ans he still continues to inspire us all that “we’re all capable of doing more than we think of”, and that’s why he is my favourite superhero, what about y’all!?
