Raazi Review: Some thriller creates suspense and what if this espionage is about PATRIOTISM?

Ameesha Saxena

‘A strong woman stands for Herself,

A stronger woman stands for her Family,

A Strongest woman stands for her Country.’

Some captured moments cannot be just judged by awards, they stay unsaid, unpicked and unheard

This Meghna Gulzar movie ‘Raazi’ is an epitome recon of surveillance and intelligence. The thriller blends over the flashback history of Indo-Pakistan war in 1971 of a Kashmiri spy married to a Pakistani Army officer. The mirth and bombarded in the movie shakes up the heads of society. The movie is the adaption of ‘ Harinder Sikka’s ‘ novel “Calling Sehmat”. The bravery and the triumph  of this Kashmiri girl is heart-throbbing.

The Emotional Wit

Raazi paradigms of faith and the enshrining spirits of bravery links its wit with the emotional connect. The war pace tears in the eyes of each woman.

Kashmir’s Valour

Kashmir, our very own Kashmir, which of late has been unfortunately labelled with unrest and unattached with the rest of the country, can produce acts of valour, as depicted from the trailer of Raazi.

The Prodigious Role of Alia

The movie has smashed the amazeballs on YouTube and every news scripts. The  phenomenal woman empowerment graced the double role of the golden woman. The mindful cognizance of a ‘spy’ to protect her country to indulge herself in danger is explicitly shown in the appalling role of a ‘Pakistani wife’ who sacrifices her life to protect many lives.

The sacrifice for nation

The spirit of patriotism develops from the first cry for its motherland. Such sacrifice for nation is a blessing . ‘Serving the nation comes first until you die’. This proud sentiment leads up the head to the happiness of seventh stage.

Some wonders are just astonishing when they stay unsaid. All the spirits and winning doesn’t need the medals, for the highest award and reward is raw and wild patriotism. Yes, it’s just sacrifices which create beauty in heart — In the hearts of the nation — and develops, nurtures nationalism in the hearts of the viewers.

For ‘Raazi’ ‘Raazi’ ‘Raazi’!

“You stand in the presence of Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, rightful heir to the Iron Throne, rightful Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, the Breaker of Chains.”

That’s the introduction to the beautiful Emilia Clarke known as “Khaleesi” in the epic saga we call as Game of thrones. The character she portrayed from the first season was that of a subtle, calm and innocent Princess who is longing to just go back to her home where her ancestors originally lived .

The first ever title she gains is that of Khaleesi when she is  married off to Khal (King) Drogo of the Dothraki clan. She regains herself after the death of his Khal realizing that she is the rightful Targaryen for the Iron Throne and not her brother.

Lets see why we should get inspiration from the Daughter of the Mad King, Daenerys Targaryen.

Daenerys never wanted to marry Khal drogo but still sacrified herself to the barbaric and ruthless dothrakis. She did so on her brother, Viserys Targaryen’s command.

She followed the Dothraki tradition of eating  a raw heart of a stallion before giving birth to a child. She walked into the fire with her Dragon eggs later gave birth to 3 dragons. This added the titles of the “Unburnt and mother of dragons”.

Read AlsoThe ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ trailer is driving people nuts in just one day of its release!

She reached Astapor in Slavers bay and freed all the 800 Unsullied army. She bought all the slaves in the Yunkai city, hereby gaining the title of “Breaker of chains”.

Daenerys has always appreciated suggestions given by her close apprentices like Ser Jorah ,Misandei and Daario. And later, she incorporated The Imp, Tyrion Lannister as the Hand of the Queen. She knew when to take the suggestion and when to act like a queen.

Daenerys led the clan of Dothrakis to travel on sea which they had never experienced. Being an outsider and leading wild Dothrakis, The Unsullied, The second sons and the dragons was a challenge. The confident, strong and independent Khaleesi outgrew the level of expectation every time she decided to do something.

Well! She can’t be praised enough for the character she portrays  so effortlessly and befittingly. The character reminds us that we women are the KHALEESI in our own eyes. Only then the world would recognise our worth.

But then we are not men!

If you ask a Potterhead who’s their favorite character in the entire magical saga, the answer can never be just one. Each character has its own importance and is equally unique. You will find intelligence in Hermione Granger, strength in Harry Potter, Wittiness in the Weasley Brothers, Innocence in Nevil Longbottom and purity in Luna Lovegood. Each character has etched their places in out hearts, teaching us the lessons of life. Professor Severus Snape taught us the meaning of eternal, undefined love, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin taught us bravery and loyalty towards friendship. That’s what the entire series display, the true depiction of friendship, courage, love and loyalty. The essentials of the series is not Magic but the emotions that are so beautifully conveyed through the characters. JK Rowling definitely created magic through Harry Potter but not just with wands. She created it with her magically compiled characters that became our inspiration since childhood.

Friendship was given a new definition by the trio: Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley. The trio taught us the meaning of true friendship, love and loyalty. The trio taught us how friends become each other’s strengths even in the hardest of situations. Laughter or tears, success or failure, this trio stood together throughout, making us wonder if we could ever cherish a friendship like that. Deep down, all of us wish to have a friendship that is simply family.

Who doesn’t love the witty tricks and crazy magic of the Weasley Brothers? Fred and George have been the reason we have smiled even during fearful situations. The twins were a reflection to each other’s strength. From crazy magic stuff to the Marauders Map, they were the masters of the wittiest. It left everyone shattered to see them separate forever after Fred Weasley died in the Battle of Hogwarts. A heartbreaking incident, it surely made its fans cry and still does.

The brilliant woman, introduced as a black cat elegantly transforming into a witch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Yes, she was the strongest woman in Hogwarts, the woman who was patient along with a pinch of humor at times. Who doesn’t love the scene when she comes to face Professor Snape in the last part of the series? She once again emerged as the most wonderful witches of all times.

When we imagine Professor Snape we see an arrogant man wearing black robes, scaring the hell out of everybody. We as fans didn’t seem to like Snape much until his end time. When he died, we knew it wasn’t usual. Undoubtedly, his tears said it all that he was the one who protected Harry all these years. It was he who loved Lily Potter. He made us all understand that true love is that which lasts ALWAYS, even if that love gives pain.

These two friends stayed loyal to their friend James even after his death. Sirius Black who was the Godfather to Harry Potter and Remus Lupin became his mentor who taught him the Patronus Charm. These two became Harry’s strength and guided him to the path where his parents would be proud of him. Indeed, their friendship was undying and stayed eternal even after their death.

The earliest enemy to Harry Potter, we have always seen Draco boasting about his pure blood family. He was always a jealous person, who coveted attention. But then, he was a good one at heart when he stood by Harry if not publicly but by heart during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Who doesn’t adore the villain of the series, the cruel man who cannot be named, Lord Voldemort? Even though he was the villain and we wished for him to die but yes, his presence on-screen was always the perfect definition to darkness and intelligence. No doubt, he was a genius and not an easy one to fight. He was, the ugliest yet one of the most powerful wizards after Albus Dumbledore.

The series has seen many more wonderful characters who played their parts so well. There was Arthur and Molly Weasley who became parents to Harry Potter when he needed a family. We’ve loved Dobby the elf and we’ve also adored Hagrid, the perfect definition to cuteness. We have loved owls and flying brooms, the changing stairs and the speaking wall portraits. We have hated Bellatrix Lestrange but at the same time we have respected Narcissa Malfoy when she saved Harry. For a Potterhead, this series is endless and the reason we believe that friendship and love wins over the darkest of troubles. For Albus Dumbledore said : “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one remembers to turn on the light.”
